Christoffer Karlén – Pokerpro’s Live Reporter & Professional Hero

Coming to you straight from the poker action of The Festival Series in Rozvadov 2025 — a location that’s already being dubbed the "Big Apple" of European poker (no offence, NYC) — we caught up with one of poker media’s most charmingly chaotic good guys: Christoffer Karlén. Blonde, Swedish, and caffeinated to capacity, Christopher isn’t just another face behind the blogs. No, no. This time, he’s making a bold leap from documenting poker history to actually trying to make some of it himself.
Let’s set the scene: Kings Resort, the largest live poker scene in Europe, where records are being shattered, and the Hendon Mob Championship just clocked in as the biggest ever, smashing the €300,000 guarantee — and that was for charity, folks. Emotions are high, chip stacks are higher, and somewhere in the middle of this beautiful madness is Christopher, live-reporting for Poker Pro, (And previously for PokerListings) bringing the action to fans faster than a turbo Sit & Go.
But wait — this isn’t just another “guy with a notebook” gig. As the two Swedish comrades on camera remind us (yes, we see you, Andreas Hoglund), Christopher has stepped into a new arena: the TV cash game table.
“I’m gonna fire a couple of bullets myself,” he says, half-grinning like a man who knows exactly how many clips he’s packing… and how much this might end up in the blog either way.
This isn’t just about chasing pots. It’s about content. The kind of content that The Festival fans live for — real, raw, and sprinkled with that poker player’s brand of delusional optimism. Christopher, who its he's “not a very creative player,” might have to channel his inner Ilari Sahamies just for the blog’s sake. After all, what’s a cash game appearance without a couple of wild moves to keep the readers entertained?
“Maybe I’ll sneak in a few moves here and there… you know, just for the blog,” he teases. (This is either the beginning of a Cinderella story or a bankroll obituary — either way, we’re here for it.)
But don’t be fooled by the casual vibe — the man’s been everywhere. King's Casino Rozvadov marks his first time here, but Christoffer Karlén been jetting across the poker globe like a Nordic Anthony Bourdain with less foie gras and more Final Tables. Live reporting? Check. Interviews? Check. Late-night tilt control? TBA.
The conversation even veers toward the most pressing issue at any poker event: the food. Christopher’s eyes light up like he just hit the top set on a wet board. “Don’t get me started,” he warns, clearly more ionate about the buffet than his preflop range. A self-declared gourmet? Maybe. A man who eats like he bluffed the kitchen into extra portions? Definitely.
With all that said, tonight marks a new chapter — or possibly a cautionary tale — as Christopher puts down the camera and picks up the chips. Tomorrow, he’ll be writing a first-person report from the battlefield of the TV table. But for now, we’ll be watching, rooting, and maybe slow-clapping a bluff or two if it happens.
So here's to content, chaos, and Christoffer Karlén. As they say here in Ro… “Manchester is Manchester.” (No, we don’t know what it means either — but it feels right.)
Best of luck at the table, Christopher. Just don’t forget who’s holding the pen when the dust settles.
